I couldn't resist showing off my "new" baby! It was Terry Bethel's personal guitar until I finally talked him out of it. It's one of the most well built guitars I've ever sit behind, but it really means a lot because Terry is a very dear friend and mentor. All the Bethel's have ball-bearings on every shaft, adjustable helper-springs, and they play like a dream. Dick Miller built this guitar back in the mid-90's and I think it may be the prettiest cabinet he ever built. It's cocobolo front and necks with a burst flamed maple top. Pictures really don't even come close to showing to true depth and beauty of this guitar. It sounds even better than it looks too. I'm so lucky to be able to have such an awesome guitar, it's just a shame it's too pretty to take to work. This one is gonna stay at home under lock and key...

I forgot to mention that Terry is still building guitars. He can build you whatever you can think up. I can't say enough about these guitars. Bethel's are as good a guitar as any, and better than most! Give him a call or e-mail if you're interested in a new guitar.

Believe it or not Larry, I haven't taken any shots of the undercarriage yet. I'll get some up for you. It's quite a machine. I had him leave the setup alone and I've been having a blast playing Terry's copedent again. Everytime I sit behind this guitar I find myself playing "We Could" and "If". I'm just glad Bethel left some of his chops on it for me. He's always been one of my very favorite players. Nobody can get "outside" like Mr. B. Laughing

Thanks guys! I've never had a lacquer guitar, but I think I got as pretty a guitar as there is. Only problem is it's too pretty to use. I just don't have the heart to put this one under a bus...

Correct me if I'm wrong Tyler but are you sleeping with that guitar? Not that I wouldn't. What a beaut.

Actually, it does live in my bedroom. I don't sleep with it though, I'm afraid I'd roll over on it and scratch the lacquer... Razz

Ty, I remember that guitar. Dick built it soon after he had made a Fessenden for me. Great as the Fessy was (I sold it by mistake years later), this guitar made me envious. And I'm glad a player of your caliber now owns it. Congrats!! Very Happy

Hey Tyler,
How you been? That is a fine guitar and I think probably the prettiest Bethel that has been built.
