I play a Nashville 400 w/ a BW speaker. Always had problem with the reverb not working, but with a little DD3 it sounded clean. All of a sudden it sounds fuzzy. Checked the cords, looks okay inside. Settings are the same. Not banged around, never leaves the house. Anything I can check?
Thanks

Does it still do it with the DD3 removed from the equation? _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Playing for 54 years and still counting. |

Yep. I pulled the DD3 and turned the reverb all the way down. Still fuzzy. Tomorro, I'll plug a different guitar in and check that. It's very noticeable as it sounded really clean for the past couple of years.

Could be one of the "normal through" jacks. Put a guitar cord between the effects loop jacks and see if that helps. If not try the Preamp Out/Power Amp in.
If there is a dirty/partial contact it could cause problems. |

Another thing to check is the BW speaker. It could be that a piece of the foam came loose and is rubbing on the voice coil. Here is a link to an old discussion, regarding cleaning out the voice coil gap:

Thanks Jack and Lee. I'm checking it out now. That link showing how to take a BW speaker apart has alot of good information on it.
Thanks for your help and have a good Christmas.

Thanks Dave.
Have you figured out the problem yet? When my NV400 starts getting fuzzy, I just take my razor to it. Sorry, I'm bored right now. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . It may need caps replaced. Try another speaker with a jumper off wires disconnected from your amp. If its clear its your speaker , if its fuzzey probably needs some mod work. I recomend Ken Fow once he gets settle back in his new home from the fire. Ken has done some wonderful work on my amps. |
