Pine Grove must be a steeler or steel fan, as most shots have steel and many have names. Gotta love the pic of the Oklahoma State Pen band... The Outlaws!

Here's one of Vance Terry that I've never seen http://www.flickr.com/photos/30643196@N00/224269877/in/photostream/

There's also a handful of SGF member Wayne Tanner, most from the San Antonio music halls.

I ran across that collection a while ago, too. I absolutely LOVE that sort of thing. If anybody knows of other photo collections of 30's to 50's bandstand scenes, I'd sure like to hear about it!

Jim, I just got a reply from forumite Wayne Tanner about the shots of him, you'll see a handful from San Antonio with him towards the end of the reel. I think these collections are important too.

Nice photo of Ernest Tubb with Butterball Paige too! They are easier to view if you use the page index.

Among others, I saw Marian Hall, Ernie Ball, and a very young Hank Garland.

Thanks for posting Ron. Man, those Fender steels were everywhere in those days.

Vance Terry was one hot player.

Happy Holidays,

Bob

Every other amp is a TV-front Pro too. These photos are amazing.
