The Hollonville Show Show Sunday , put on by the GaSGA was as usual Great!! They had several States represented, good fellowship and good food. Larry Sasser and Herby Wallace were flawless. Thanks guys and Donna, for doing it right again.

What an amazing show there was yesterday in Hollonville! All the pickers were great and I enjoyed every minute with all my wonderful friends! And, Donna, thank you for sitting with me during different sets and talking to me before and after my set. Love, Brett, Emmons S-10, Morrell lapsteel, GFI Ultra D-10-aka "Redgold Beauty"

Thanks to everyone who made it a great show - AGAIN!!
For those of you who weren't there, we announced the new GaSGA officers for 2007

President - Larry Moore will take the gavel after Roger Crawford's 3 years of exemplary service to the Georgia steel guitar community.

Vice President - Bill Cunningham follows Bill Nicholson.

Treasurer - Steve Geis follows himself!! Welcome to another term.

Secretary - Bill Ferguson follows Donna Dodd.

Website Administrator - Donna will continue in this capacity

Welcome to the new Board!

Everyone had a great show!! My favorite highlights were:
-Brett doing "He Stopped Loving Her Today" - AWESOME, Brett!
-Bill Ferguson and Tim doing "Kansas City"
-Tommy Dodd doing "Ode to Billy Joe" - with all his distortion, I affectionately refer to it as the Pepto Bismol song.
-Shorty Smith singing his original song about the RING.
-Homemade Vegetable soup and cornbread - Thanks to Randy and Theresa McDonald!!
-Larry Sasser just being Larry Sasser!!!What an amazing player and inspiration to the steel guitar community!!!

Thanks to all who drove the distance, went the distance, played the distance, and made a financial contribution to the association. And THANKS AGAIN TO THE wonderful STAFF BAND!!! WOW, do they have talent!!

We missed Ernie, Nan and Belinda!!!!

Let's do it again in June, maybe???

I was especially proud of the players we had Sunday. Not only are they great friends, but great musicians as well. Thank you all for sharing your talent with us. I thanked them all day long, but that still wasn't enough praise for our staff band. Woody Ledford and Johnny Thomas on guitar, Wayne Smith on bass, Wayne Stowers and Jim Hartley on drums...these guys are our "A" team players!!! Herby is really coming along, and I was proud to be one of his "roadies" for the day. You're welcome back any time, my friend. And our very own Larry Sasser, what can you say. He proved why he was so successful in Nashville. He plays sooooo smooth and tasteful, you could sit and listen all day. There was no doubt that he deserved the "Legend Member" award that he received. Way to go Larry! Again, thanks to all who attended, and let's get behind our new officers and support them as they take the Georgia Steel Guitar Association to the next level.
Regards,
Roger Crawford, President(for 3 more weeks!)

I had a session and then rehearsal which I gladly would have traded for a day at Hollonville! So sorry I missed it. Sounds like it was another great show.
