Dom, I'd like to see how you made the keyless tuner! What scale is that? After flying with my 10 string lapsteel(carry-on in gigbag) I had the idea of making one very much like yours..JS |

The stainless steel bolts are kinda expensive... so I am going to use some cheaper screws next time. Brass or aluminum barstock could be used and would be easier to tap.
The bridge peices slide easily on the un-threaded portion of the bolt shaft, but I may try a screw that is threaded all the way to see if that makes any difference.

Great job Dom! I like the tuners being on the bridge end. The one I made with "Sonny Jenkins" tuners is also loud unplugged. Mine has a Maple body. If you support it on your fingertips and have someone strum across the strings you can feel the vibrations for an unbelievable period of time. P.S. Your workbench is beginning to look like mine. |

Awesome Dom! Thanks for posting how you made those keyless tuners, I just might have to try that.

Dom, how much more difficult is it to saw, drill and tap the key stock than it is to work with mild steel? I'm thinking of a similar project and I've got some key stock, but I'll take it back and look for something else if it's a real PITA to work with.
