I am selling this guitar for a friend, who doesn't know much about pedal steel guitars. What he know is that it is a 1978 and is in good condition. It comes with a case and he said it could use some strings. He is asking $1700 obo plus shipping. email me with any questions. Thanks for looking. These were the pics that he had sent me, sorry for the low quality.

Is that rust or just dirt on the under carriage? Also the legs look pretty scratched up? End plates also.

Hard to tell from photos of photos on a computer screen. Images are pixelated.

I am going to get some better pictures up later tomorrow. I think the undercarriage is fine, I think it is just a bad photo.

I have a Les Paul "Showcase" that I would like to trade for a Sho-Bud or Mullen. If this is something you would consider just let me know. The link to my guitar on the forum is http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=215711 . Thanks and good luck.

My friend isn't looking for any trades, the steel could use a cleaning, but other than that it is in good shape. I have a few offers already, but it's still available. Thanks

Very Happy Can you still read who signed the inspection sticker? That wood is awesome, I bet it was origially a blue guitar that faded to green.

Does anyone know what the metal strips behind the changers are for? I had a Pro II a few years ago that had the same thing on it, and I never found an answer for them.

Thanx,
Jim

Jim, I've seen some Pro III's with the strips and some without them. I don't think they serve a functional purpose. Maybe they started putting the strips behind the changer to hide the wood that was already cracked or would, as in alot of cases, eventually crack. Oh Well

Bill, I believe the sticker is a patent pending sticker that shows the patent numbers. I don’t think there is a signature on it. I have a Pro III and it has that sticker on it, in the same place. Mike

Thanks Mike, my Pro III Custom had an inspection sticker with Dwayne Marrs as the inspector, which ment Dwayne built my guitar, it was a 1976 with the thin pedals, waw what a guitar that was.

Patrick: What part of Illinois are you from? If I decide to make a bid I could save shipping by picking up steel in person.
