Topic: looking for ideas mounting 1/4 & power jack in steel rac |

I have a 4 space rack with my trans tube fex , tuner and furman inside of it (may put my tube fex in there also for a backup) and I have purchased some nutrex female 1/4 jacks, and a surface mount power jack so I can keep the rack closed up and just plug my speaker cabinets to the 2 jacks, and then a 3 prong power cable (like most equipment uses these days) to the power jack and be ready to go.
I plan on mounting the 2 1/4" jacks and power jack to some type of "plate". Thinking like an electric outlet cover plate (metal one) and then mounting it to the rack.
I have done some searching on the forum without much luck. I know that there are some creative folks here that have done this .. care to share some design ideas?

My Justice rack has power in, speaker/direct outs on a little metal plate near the bottom corner (when the amp is sitting on its bottom). Everything plugs in neatly. I just open the top and go to town.
If my camera was here, I'd snap a picture.

I had a rack one time that I did that too. It was a wooden rack (SKB might be easier). It took the long (2" or so) long jacks to get through the side. I just drilled through and mounted them. The power jack is a little harder. I just drilled through with large bits and used a file to get the hole right. It's not as hard as it looks. The hardest part of my project was installing MIDI jacks (this rack was for rack mount synthesizers).

I've modified several rack cases (and sold them to forumites that are very happy with them). I also modified a case for one of our steel guitar club members.
I bought all my plates, jacks, etc from www.partsexpress.com
Here is a picture of a case that I modified. That case had a TransTube Fex and MosValve 500 power amp in it. I mounted a surge protector type power strip on the bottom "lid".
The end view is the AC computer type power plug and the two jacks are for speakers. If you want guitar input jack that could be added with a separate plate away from the output and AC power.
