Great "in the pocket" playing. Really nice tone. Bare fingers....no picks at all, right? |

Ferdinando: Wow! That is one of the best jazzy blues (bluesy jazz?) solos I have heard in a long time... on any instrument. So how are you tuning your 10 string C6?
Doug: That is some great blues playing... bluesy blues (my favorite). I had never heard of that C7 tuning but it sounds great. So what gauges are you using? It looks like an 8 string C6th set would work, but skipping the 6th and 7th strings.

Thanks Steve, the tuning is C7 (high to low) E, C, Bb, G, E, G. I never heard of it either... but I was looking for a way to play some guitar-like blues riffs on lap steel, so I started tinkering with the tuners on my (C6) lap steel and came up with this tuning. Start with standard C6, tune the A up to Bb, and the low C down to low G. String 6 will be a little floppy! The tuning is a "one trick pony" though. It's good for blues or songs with lots of 7th chords, but it's not a good all-round tuning like C6 IMO. _________________ My Site / My YouTube Channel
