I have had a great year playing with Gene and the Farewell Party Band. We have done some interesting shows. From bluegrass festivals to clubs, to fairs, to the Grand Ole Opry to a funeral party for a man that is still living. At 68 Gene still sings great and still does all those hits in the key he recorded them in.
At the end of the year I will be leaving Gene to return to my old gig with Jody Nix as my friend and neighbor Jr. Knight retires. I've had a blast with Gene and am looking forward to playing some good old country and western swing with Jody again. _________________ Johnny "Dumplin" Cox

Hi Johnny....Sure wish you could have made it to Ireland with Gene...We were all looking forward to hearing you over here next year....Well, in a way its probably good news for M S A buyers...You can now get back down the M S A factory and build some more of those superb guitars...Hope to see you at M S A during the Dallas Festival...Keep well |

Man, I'd love to play steel in Gene's band. He does so many great songs that really feature the steel. Must have been a great gig, Johnny. Best wishes as you re-start playing for Jody. |

Who is going to have to fill your shoes Johnny? Has someone already been chosen? You will be a hard act to follow/those are some big shoes to fill. I really don't know how big your feet are, but I am guessing a size 42 or 43 double E. |

Mark, as far as I know the job has not been filled yet. I have two more shows on 12/31 & 1/1/12. Thank you foryour kind words but my shoes are only 71/2 D so no problem for anyone. If anyone is interested send me your info and I'll pass it on to the band leader. _________________ Johnny "Dumplin" Cox
