Hey, Jim, check to see if the monitor switch will turn off or stays red when powered up... if the 002 works the same as the 003 rack does, there is a possibility that the power supply cable inside the 002 unit has gone bad. I don't know if 002 rack units do that but the 003 was notorious- it's the ribbon cable connecting the power supply to the board inside the unit. It causes the exact problem you're experiencing. Best of luck. |

Thanks for the replys. Mark, the monitor light does light up. Jason, I think I might have burned the fire wire ports, I thought it was ok to hot swap drives. does this damage the ports on the computer, the interface, or both ? I guess I thought wrong. |

On the 002- the power supply connector problem results in the monitor light staying on, and it won't go out any longer when you press the switch. |

Jim,are you turning on the interface first? This must be done,or you will get that error message every time...and...you must wait for the three faint clicks before turning the computer on... |

Thanks to all . Problem is solved, had to re initialize the interface. A friend brought over his laptop, & it recognized the interface. Powered down & back up with my computer & all is well.. saved some dough too....lol . Thanks again |
