Yesterday, I had the great pleasure of attending a jam that was organized by Woody Hill. Woody and his wife Sally made sure that everyone was comfortable and happy with plenty to eat and plenty of coffee. Not only is Woody a great host, but he is also a very talented steel player and my dear friend. He played some great music yesterday with that push/pull of his and had a fantastic tone! Some of the other steel players were Arvis Moore, who is a great musician, Stevie Sanford, who is one of the best steel players I've ever heard...BARR NONE!, R.J. Buras, who has a great touch and a beautiful tone, Victor Bryant, which is another great steel player, and "Mr. Smooth" Bill Stafford. When Mr. Stafford played his set, it was a pro job all the way. He had a lead guitar player and a fiddle player (both of which he had never met) playing with him on his set. He would graciously "pass the spotlight" and gave them both plenty of playing time. This man has got a head FULL of music! I just sat and listened as he would go through one chord after another with effortless motion. His picks were precise and his bar was spot on. His playing is as smooth as it gets. I had the pleasure of talking with him, and he has so much knowledge of music and steel guitar mechanics. He's a pro all the way and a gentleman with class. It was an honor and a pleasure for me to play with such great musicians as Mr. Bill Stafford and all of the others. Thank's again, Woody, for another great day to remember.

While I need to catch up on the others, I'm glad to be familiar with Bill Stafford's top shelf works, thanx to his kind accessability.

First off, many thanks to Woody for inviting me to his show in Purvis, Ms. That indeed was a big honor for me. Woody, you put on a good show for your community. I really enjoyed all the players you had and the opportunity to meet new talent and make new friends.
Mitch, without players and friends like yourself, none of this would be possible. I really enjoyed myself there and hope we can do it again. Thanks for all you do and especially for those nice words.
Have to fully agree with you on the talent of Steve Sanford. I was so proud of him on Scotty's stage in St. Louis this past Labor Day. Yes, he is one of the very best players and that talent is starting to be recognized by a lot more folks. Thanks for talking about Steve here. I enjoyed all the players there and hope we can have them all on our show here in Gulfport very soon.
