I got my new Steel Guitar today and it is a real beauty. It is a SD-10 with 4 and 5.It is built with Australian Tiger Wood and the neck is built of the same material. It is all natural wood and beautiful gain wood and then clear lacquer.I have to say that Ray Walker and Jack Palmer did a super job of building this Steel Guitar. This is a one of a kind and if I ever sell it it will be sold to one of them. The sound is just out of this world.I just played it love it in every way sound and smooth playing. I seem to do better on this Steel.

Yes it is "pretty" Hook and it sounds really nice with lots and lots of sustain. When Sam came over to get the guitar yesterday I had a really hard time letting her go. I just kept playing song after song. The bottom line is that it is a working project that Jack Palmer and I undertook to share some time together. Jack is like a brother to me and every time we get together we have a great day...no matter if we are building a guitar or taking a day together to just swap licks. Personally I have one more guitar that I would like to build for myself and leave behind for one of my boys and some of the parts are already done....so we will see what happens. Meantime, and probably forever I will continue playing my Rains guitars....they are simply put....a great guitar, and Gary Carpenter does it pretty darn good. I tip my hat to all of those who decide to make guitars for a living but that's just not what Jack and I are about. Maybe I'll get Sam to bring her back one day and I will record something so that you can hear the guitar. Meantime, Sam, enjoy her and get to know her well...you'll have great times together.

Thanks guys for your comments but Ray Walker and Jack Palmer are the ones that deserve all the credit for building a great Steel Guitar.Yes Ray I will come over any time you say and I will love to learn some of your playing.I will let you play mine and I will play your Rains as I seen how much you really loved playing this beauty.Just let me know when you are not busy and if you get behind on your work in the Shop let me know and I will come and give you a hand.I can do just about any thing.Jack Palmer I want to thank you for selling me this beautiful Steel Guitar.I know you and Ray worked hard to build it for yourself and it did not work out for you and that is the sorry part of it all.Thank you Jack keep in touch. Any time you want to come to my house or Ray's house we can all three get together and Jam.

Hook it plays and sounds as good as it looks if not better. Like Ray said it has great Sustain and when Ray played it you could see his eyes light up.It plays and sound as good as it looks and that is the truth. If Joe Sapp has his Party in July I will be there and you will see it there.
