Does the steel player Lucky Rogers remind anyone of times past?
A very good friend of mine, now living in Oklahoma, was tutored by Lucky decades ago.
I thought I would drop his name here on the Forum for my friend.
Thanks for any recall you may have of Lucky and care to share. _________________ No Avatar only a picture of my Mentor. |

Michael, I think that Lucky might have played on the west coast for Rose Maddox if I'm not mistaken. I used to play for her brother Fred and I'm sure he might have mentioned that. I've also heard that he was a very fast player and sometimes used a flatpick on steel.........JH in Va _________________ Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!! |

Last I heard, Lucky (no relation) was living in Central Valley, CA outside of Redding. That was several years ago--late 90s. I don't think he was playing anymore. Report was that he was managing a motel, if memory serves. I first met him when he was working with Don West at the old Oak Grove club in Redding. I sold him my Session 500 and later traded an old pull/release Marlen for a Chevy van. |
