So nice to see brother Paul on Leno tonight with Vince Gill. Perfect intonation. Great tone. Looks like he played through a Twin.

The wife and I stayed up, way past our bedtime, in order to catch the Vince Gill spot......

Personally, I was greatly disappointed in the song he sang and I didn't hear enough of Mr. Franklin to make the late hour worth my while. Nothing against Mr. Franklin.

Ray,
Vince has a new CD out! It's country, it's not the Time Jumpers material.
Support artist you like. Let's be happy Vince has a new CD out that promotes steel guitar! Smile

I didn't realize that Leno would have them on so I missed the show, but I did see Vince and company a couple of weeks ago, and if there's a better band out there, I'm not aware of it. I like Vince a lot - he puts on a great show and is a terrific musician, songwriter and stage presence, but Paul is the real reason I went, and he played beautifully. I was disappointed that they didn't play "Buttermilk John" or another tune where Paul could stretch out for a few minutes, but even so, his fills and solos were as good as they get, in my opinion. Very inspiring.

I am very glad to see some of the great singers/writers are still using steel players on the road, as well in the studio. Lets all just hope it continues.

Paul Franklin did an amazing job on the new Vince Gill CD 'Guitar Slinger'. He had enough time and space in the 'Buttermilk John' Song and he really gave all to get the sound of John Hughey. Papa John is listening to that Song for sure. Paul gave us a few minutes of real remembrance of a great player we lost. We have to thank him for that ! Smile
