I swore I'd never sell this thing but catastrophic illness forces me to turn it into cash. There's a tiny ding in the finish near the bottom F hole - otherwise it's perfectly flawless. Neck is 100% straight w/buttery action, intonation is right on and all electronics work as new.Sweet thick tone with a lot of range from bright to dark.Honey blonde birds eye maple top and back w/clear maple sides.I bought it new in 2001 and has only been gigged out a few times, played on studio sessions maybe 6 times - the rest of the time it's been in the case. They're hard to find these days as they only make a few each year and they're only available in black now I've been told - no more blondes.Several top L.A. jazz pros including Phil Upchurch have offered me anything in their quiver in even trade for this ax including all kinds of vintage Gibson jazz boxes and a newer De Angelico. These list new at $3866 and street price is $2900 (w/out case).

Because of my illness I'm still not working and my home needs a new furnace for the winter so I'm willing to accept what that's gonna cost me which is $1900.00 + shipping and I'll throw in a SKB hard case(also like new)that's around $100 if you had to buy it.

That'd be me.

in 2001 when my mother was in her last weeks in a nursing home in Tampa,my 2 sisters and I would take turns sitting with her around the clock. When I got off my shift I would drive past a Sam Ash music store and I started stopping in just to play this thing. After a while the salesmen knew my situation and would have it ready for me to play for an hour or so every day. After the funeral I knew I'd be coming into some money soon so I went down and payed cash for it. Since then I've rarely played it out of the house except for once when I played with Tootie Heath at the 2007 Playboy Jazz Festival in L.A. and a few nightclub jobs. Like I said it's a real throughbred and I hate to part with it but I've been quite ill all year, have not been able to work and am just trying to get through the holidays. I hope the new owner will take equally good care of her.

Mike, get well real soon. Being sick is a real drag. Heh, i have two sisters in the Tampa area, and I had endocarditis back in 1997 and stayed with them for two months after getting out of the hospital. I've been to that Sam Ash store numerous times and may have even been there when you were playing that Ibanez. I almost bought a used D-10 Stringmaster from that shop three years ago. I'll be pulling for you. Those Ibanez guitars are the real deal. stevet
