Hello Steel Guitar Forum Friends! I've not been able to post lately. Sorry about that. Hopefully, I can be a bit more active now. I have been working on a 10 string version of my tuning copedent. That said, my Dad has spent the past few months working on some new keyless guitars. They are absolutely beautiful machines! And wait until you hear these beauties. WOW! I will get you some You Tube videos of me playing them ASAP. Check them out in the photos here.

It appears that the two guitars have different changer setups.
In fact, one reminds me of the old Sho~Bud fingertip model. |

My guess is that they are stabilizing braces,,,which is a very good feature. IMO, most guitars would benefit very well from this feature.

John R. - stabilization rods are the best way to describe it just as Bobby Bowman suggests. There is no question this is a great feature. Just take most any steel guitar and you can almost rock it like a rockin' chair from east to west. With these cross rods it completely eliminates the "shake". There are other benefits as well. The great thing on these cross rods is that they are easy to install during setup. I suppose the "look" of it is a bit different to get use to but there are reasons for them.

Chris, I don't think there are loafer pads on these steels. There appears to be a small pad on the steel on the left, but instead of going the length of the neck it's only where your right wrist rests. Is that what I see Zane?

In answer to the pads.....as some of you know I do not like guitars with pads on the back. I find it very prohibitive for the left arm/hand motion. That said, on the one guitar here there is a small "picking pad" if you will on the right side. It really does offer some support for the right wrist. Seems really comfortable. I also like the space then that is created behind the neck. I really enjoy playing this guitar. Simply put it is just amazing how good it plays, feels and the sound is as good as anything I have ever heard.
In answer to the question about the 2 different designs. The "blonde" guitar does have an Emmons tone changer system. The strings lock and tune from the left end. On the other guitar this is my Dad's design completely. It is just the opposite in that the strings lock and tune from the tone changers on that side. This guitar also sounds just amazing. I will do my best to get some examples up on You Tube. I just need to find an extra day in my week.

I don't like the S-D arm pads either. I briefly owned one and decided that I actually hate the pad. It makes my wrist sweat and then develop a rash. It also feels like a can't move my left arm well.

You are one amazing person with a stable of fantastic guitars that knows the top,bottom, end to end,etc. I just sit here mesmerized at your talent for making these beautiful instruments sing...WOW!!!!!!
