Not much to do with any specific genre of music:
About fourty years ago me and many friends (highschool types), were very much into the music of that particular time. We were always looking for better and rarer stuff, but at the same time we really liked Bread, Don McLean and the Eagles, for example.
How was your attitude back than?
I'm just wondering if there is an analogy for today. Do you or your friends like, let me say, Ryan Adams and the more mainstream stuff like Lady Antebellum at the same time?
Or is it a no-no?
This would be my question for younger forum members or parents who are interested in what their offsprings are listening to. _________________ Fender Kingman, Sierra Crown D-10, Evans Amplifier, Soup Cube. |

Of course they can mix. It depends entirely on the listener's musical tastes. Some people have a wide range of tastes, others don't.
There are no "no-no"s. Music is about what moves you, period. Of course, a lot of this is culturally conditioned, but it's possible to go outside that box if you know you're in a box and decide you want to explore outside. |
