Excellent condition 2008 Beard road-o-phonic resonator squareneck guitar. Made of figured birch (one of a kind - usually made with either mahogany or maple) with a Fishman transducer on the cone and a Lace sensor at the neck. Output through a stereo Y cable (included) to a K&K 2-channel mixer (also included). With original hard shell case. Very high quality resonator guitar with a variety of sounds, both electric, acoustic, or blended.

Jeff, how would you describe the acoustic sound versus maple (usually described as bright) or mahogany (usually described as warm). |

Tom,
It's in-between according to the Beard folks. I like it better than the maple (which I've played) but since I haven't played a mahogany one I can't compare. It has a nice (although quiet) acoustic voice that is well balanced between treble and bass strings (the bass is surprisingly crisp).
It sounds good amplified too but it has it's own sound. The Fishman passive pickup on the cone is pretty much what you would expect. The Lace sensor retains a bit of the resonance but can sound like a lap steel too. Blending in some of the Fishman with the Lace has been my favorite.
