Here's Les "Carrot Top" Anderson singing "Won't You Ride In My Little Red Wagon" on the Town Hall Party TV Show.

I know Rex Griffin wrote this, and usually a man sings it, but notice how naughty this song is if a woman sings it. Definite sexual imagery.

This was originally Hank Penny's hit and signature song. I always thought Hank wrote it !

The Steel Player on the vidio was probably Marian Hall.

For those who don't know, Les was also a fine steel guitarist and played with Bob Wills for awhile as well as others. In addition to that, his son Jimmy was a fine pedal steel guitarist who I haven't seen since the sixties when he was at the Pioneer Room in Norwalk, Ca. playing a Fender 2000 D-10.... Billy, do you know what ever happened to Jimmy A..? JH in Va.

When Les played with Bob Wills in the 40's he wrote a Steel Guitar Instrumental called "This is the Southland". It was a combination of Harmonics and regular picking. I'm pretty sure he recorded this with the Wills Band. I'll bet Ray Montee remembers it. I first met Les when he was playing Steel with Red Murrell at the Palace Barn in Glendale Calif.

I remember "This Is The Southland" very well. It was on my list of instrumentals that I played during that era.
