Been considering this interesting item, but you know how these out-of-element things can go, is it better than OK? http://www.countrymusicusa.com/broywibhoni.html
The price is certainly better than OK.

Believe it or not Ron, it's on iTunes too, so you can check samples here:

The steel playing pretty sweet to me, but I could live without the countrified piano I hear on some of the tracks.

Man, I seached the world over for a sound link, Mike, thanx.
I figured they'd find something to mess it up, but I'll check it out.
Hey, where's your blog?

Well I had a little listen and just loved the overall sound, best part is the acoustic bass parts, big n fat too, clean playing, perfectly in tune, no hysterics, pure n simple, a great cd to learn from, as everything is crystal clear, not my particular cup of tea but who cares, its been done sincerely, I respect that.

This is a re-release of the original LP he did for Starday...

The original LP has 12 songs...they left off Sweet Leilani on this new CD. I've seen this quite a bit on rereleases, and don't know why producers do this. Confused

That being my only complaint, I like the music. It's an enjoyable album for Little Roy's stylings on the popular Hawaiian tunes typically recorded in the 50's & 60's.

Left off? You'd think they'd try and find a compatible LP to add to the 80 min. a CD holds, sheesh.

Smile Jeff, do you have this LP? I wondered when I saw the CD if it might be a re-issue of his LP. Now that I see the photo of the LP and your note,--it is familiar to me. I also have the old LP along with many other Starday LPs that feature C&W artists with lots of steel guitar. Many good LPs came out on Starday

Here is a video of Little Roy Wiggins at Roy’s Music Shop in Pigeon Forge Tenn playing his simple tingaling music with some interesting commentary.

Hi Wally -

I wish I had it...

I heard it years ago, but didn't pick it up when I should have...

Starday put out some good stuff.

Aloha for now,

Smile

Jeff

Hey Ron, howzit? Some horrible little troll from another forum I was frequenting started trolling it and mocking it in that forum, so I tore it down before he could start making fun of the posts about my stepdad's and grandmother's deaths.

That's life sometimes...lotta mutants crawled out from under their rocks when the Web went public, and that's never going away.

I have the Fabulous Steel Guitar Artisrty of LRW and, while it is enjoyable, it is very un-Hawaiian-like playing, in my opinion, and sounds more like a Western Swing player playing Hawaiian, unlike say Herb Remington, who has a Hawaiian sound when he plays. Still, LRW was an excellent player ad I'm not trying to discourage anyone from buying it.

I expected as much. They mostly didn't grow up listening to and loving Hawaiian music like Jerry Byrd, and their roots permeate the whole thing. But that's not always a negative, there's usually something to enjoy.
