| Off the top of my head, I can think of a couple right here in my area. Jody Cameron, Jody Sanders, Bob Bowman, Mike Sparks, Brandon Oberyon, Ricky Davis, Joe Mcham, Cameron Parsons,Brain Roberts and I have seen others around town playing, but I dont know who they are. There is not a shortage of steel players around here. |

Judging by the statistics in the other states, I'd say that Texas enjoys a disproportionate number of steel players per capita.
And the ones I've heard have been disproportionately good, too!

I wasnt born and raised in Texas, but I've made my home in San Antone since 2003. If it wasnt for Texas, I might never have tried to play pedal steel guitar. The emphasis, of course, is on trying to play it.
