No great playing here, and crap sound... I laid the $1.99 computer mic on the floor and recorded it into the 60 second computer sound recoder.. No eq, no nothing...
I just went through a little chordal movement, and used all 4 knee levers that are on my guitar...
LKL- pulls string 1 F# up a full tone..
LKR- Pulls string 2 down a full tone in 2 steps...
My second string is an E, just so you know.. You will hear the change, plain as day.
RKL- Strings 4 and 8 up a half[F lever]
RKR- Strings 4 and 8 up 1/2... [E to F]...
This clip is not designed to highlight my decidedly journeyman/honkytonk level steel playing, nor extol the virtues of the Fender sound.. It is designed to let guys hear how well and accurately this new Fender knee lever system works, using changes that guys were using on pedals with these guitars.. I didn't move the bar much... much of what you hear is levers actuated with the bar stationary.
Again, don't expect "the big sound".. It ain't gonna happen with the technology I wield!

btw, I can post further clips, using more specific changes, if anyone is thinking of adding a lever or 2 to a Fender cable job.....
if anyone cares, let me know, and I'll get more stuff on... May even record a part of a song or two... bob _________________ I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

Very nice Bob. Killer tone for sure. Makes me wish I had a Fender so I can add the levers. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . I'd like one for my 2000 but I think the cable length would be a little bit longer. Does he have the measurements?
The audio sounds great. What amp are you using?

Dave.. he can make cables to your measurement... Just use a string figuring in the changer loop, and turnbuckle... He will have no trouble making cables and levers for the 2000...
Thats an old tube Traynor Studio Mate reverb,, 4x 8 speakers! about 20 watts... I posted some other clips as well.. turned the amp treble down on those , and the guitar didn't sound as good... Fenders want treble!... bob _________________ I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

I actually love the sound of my 2000 through my Webb and my ShoBud amp, both solid state. It sounded good through a Super reverb w/15" JBL too. The Deluxe Reverb sounded a little too shrill for me with the 2000. _________________ Dave Zirbel-

Gives me a bit of Sneaky Pete memories with that tone. Really nice. _________________ To write with a broken pencil is pointless. |

Actually Tom, I can get that sound much better using a Fender amp... I have an old traynor set up here near the steel and I use that for messing around with the steel, and dialing it in, but an old Fender amp really brings out the distinctive "Fender sound" much better . bob _________________ I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

I don't remember Sneaky Pete ever having that good of a tone. One of the things I didn't like about him WAS his tone. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) .
