All seriousness aside, the article also does not mention the AKG D19...Also known as the Beatles mic...
I bought one of these from a friend way way back for $25, forgot I even had it. I found it last year wrapped up and stored, it works great and has a very vintage dynamic mic presence with the roll off...I've also come to learn that it may be worth around 5 big ones !

i have an rca 44b. every time i take it to a session the engineers look at it as an oddity...they mostly have never used one....then when they hear it...they are usually stunned! one of the greatest mics ever. only one of these mics i would trade it for is the U47. |

Tony if those vents on the side are for hanging in front of an amp speaker so you don't need a small Mic stand I think I am going to be very ill.
About 15 to 20 years ago I bought 2 of those Mics to hang in front of my amps and I bought them out of a junk bin at the old SaM's Music (Sam Pugh) in Madison TN. I didn't care for them for micing amps in a loud bar environment and guess what I gave them to a friend LOL!!

Feel pretty fortunate to have a pair of RCA 44's, a U47, a U67 and an M49 hanging around our studios...still looking for a 251 from someone who doesn't know what they have _________________ John Macy
