Crazy... I've been a lapsteel player for about 11 years, and feel very comfortable on it now. Tuesday night, I was given this MSA Sidekick, and after messing with it yesterday, got pretty comfortable with the A&B pedals, and knee lever enough to know at least where most of my chord voicings were for general stuff. In some weird, hare-brained fit of insanity, I took it to a jam last night, along with one of my lapsteels, and my Fender DeLuxe reverb and set her up.

The leader of the jam and guitar player (very good, too) asked me how long I'd been playing PSG. I said "What time is it? Started this morning." The look on his face was great. Very Happy I did say that I'd been playing lap for some time, so it wasn't like I'd never held a steel bar before, and it was mainly getting used to tighter string spacing, much larger bar, foot/knee levers and that infernal re-entrant E9 tuning Laughing that are my biggest hurdles right now!

Anyway, I didn't show my behind too much, I guess, as people loved the addition of a PSG to this particular jam!

Just wanted to share in the birth of yet another baby PSG player in the fold!

Todd, congratulations on your first outing with your PGS. My first outing was TERRIBLE but the band leader said to bring it back. I played lead guitar and was in a quite good weekend band and was really suprised when he said to keep bringing it and that was 40 years ago. Many band since then but a great big THANK YOU to Jerry Duncan from Ada, Ok.
So never leave home without your PSG Very Happy .
