if any you folks build and fly rc model planes and would like to talk/trade/enjoy the hobby with me let me know illpost some pics of my planes
in a day or so
I see many great hobbys here
the pontiac cars are fantastic I had a 4 door
tempest in the 70s great car wish I still owned it
ive enjoyed this post so much

Hi Mike,
Don't fly RC planes but I do play with RC helicopters.
I thought playing steel was difficult but flying a rc helicopter is like trying to balance a plate on a marble. lol.

I have the real flight simulator and when my buddies get down here to Florida, we're all going to purchase three Apprentice airplanes to get a small discount on them. We went out to the field last winter and watched them fly and it sure looked like fun. Larry

| I have small electrics to gas clear up to a full size '46 Taylorcraft BC 12D. I have lots of planes and love to build, mostly giant scale. However, the band I have been with for nearly 18 years travels more and more out of town. I love the band but it's killing my hobby. I have a Spectrum radio and several planes I haven't flown. We are building an apartment in the back of our hangar and hope to move there around the end of the year. I'll also be building a new workshop and a music room. I have loved airplanes and music as far back as I can remember. AMA 49180 |

Henry, they aren't making those P-51 Mustang kits any longer, are they? The hand cable controlled old, old, models.
They were the best stunt planes made, back in the day.

Don I think you are refering to the old Sterling Models P-51 kits? If so you will recognize this picture of some of the kit parts. I cloned ten new Mustang kits for the local C/L guys last winter. Yes, there are two cottage manufacturers who are still making this kit. Also, here's a picture of a Baracuda stunt model I'm currently working on. I also fly R/C models. My current project is a 1/4 scale Blackburn Monoplane from an English kit.

My first kit many years ago was a Goldgerg Eagle 63. I learned alot from that kit. All the way to a Pit stunt Bi-Plane. Great hobbie. Good way to get away from the wife for a while. It creates "space".
Did you ever let one get away from you and become a speck in the sky? Been there, done that. |

hey great looking planes guys...
im building a pete and poke at the moment
.40 size and ive got a four star .60 ready to place engine and radio in soon I hope
got some other planes crashed and such
its a great hobby but its costs are a bit
high to keep up steel guita takes up all my time
so progress is slow at best
man kits are high and gettin hard to find I went to the hobby shop a few weeks back they had no kits at all said nobody builds um any more I said well I do....have not done the helis to expensive for this old fart hehehehe but there way cool
so Dennis could a guy get one of those mustand kits from you you made?

Dennis, I like the Baracuda. Is it a current kit or scratch built? I still have a Veco smoothe on the wall. I'd like to build a nice UC plane. It's comming back around here.
Herman, I was an active member of the Columbus club back in the mid 70s. We had a small grass field with lots of hour restrictions. I've seen the beautiful field you have now north of town. We have 3 large clubs here in San Antonio. |

| never tried rc but i know it would be cool. my dad flew u-control planes like ringmasters and customs that he built. we went to many model plane meets and they had both types. i always dug the big multi engined warplanes some people had...and the little speed planes that you had to plant your u-control on the center pole...screamers. |

The Cuda is scratch built from a plan published in American Modeler magazine from the 60's Even the canopy is scratch build from 1/16" plywood.

I don't have any kits left and my cost of materials would be more than the cost of Brodak's kit. The reason I made a bunch up was the local hobby shop made a wood donation to our club for a group build project.
