Doesn't look at all like David Kurrasch. Playing a Magnum (by Carter) for those interested in hearing one.

As an aside, the microphone she is using, my dad had one just like it and gave it to me and my brother. It was made by American (company name) if I remember right. The name plate comes off and you can select either High, low or (yes) medium impedance (whatever that is) by loosening 2 screws and relocating the jumper. Of course, as young boys, we ended up trashing he mic. Bummer.

I like this video too, but its neither Tommy nor David playing the steel I think. That sure is some great playing by Tommy on whatever steel he used! Smile

Well that kid steel player in the video is certainly NOT playing what you hear. What you hear is Tommy Detamore playing his Carter when he recorded and produced the session. That is Eddy Perez on Guitar in the video and does sound like Eddie's playing on the Cut(I've known Eddie a long long time). But again; what you hear on a produced music video is the original studio track and what you see is; they are FAKE playing and singing along with it. I'm sure they got the hip-est looking dudes to FAKE play like they are her band...ha...but NONE of them play live with Sonny and certainly not on the CD...ha.(well maybe Eddie).

Hi Richard!
Not sure who the steel player in that video is, that was shot before I was around. Definitely Tommy Detamore on the track though!

Here are a few recent live clips of the current band, in case anyone would like to see what you'll get if you come out to a show!

"If I Could" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtLuxXLlnWE

"From a Table Away" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhXsCgZiHmo

"Drink Myself Single" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfbhxfC5si4

There are lots more live clips on youtube, but most of them are awful cell-phone recordings. These three actually have good audio!

If it's the same lineup (minus the girl backup singer - out having a baby I think you said) as when I last saw you at the Club Rodeo in San Jose (not the last time you played but the time before), this is one killer band.

Congrats on the tours David. You heading out west any time soon?

Thanks Richard, yes it's still the same lineup as the last time you were out.
I don't see any California dates on our calendar until mid-April. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Club Rodeo date pop up sometime before then though!

David, good video, and very nice work on steel! Please tell Jake Clayton hello. We worked together in his earlier days.

Thanks Mickey and Duane!
I will say hi to Jake for you Duane. He sure is a blast to work with! We've had a lot of after hours jam sessions together out on the road. Not only can he play any song you call, he can play it on any instrument!

Yup. David is a first class player and person.

Of course, I'm just buttering him up so he'll recommend me for his gig if he ever leaves. Very Happy

I gotta tell ya... that KVET stage is one hot place to play in the summer. We (Rosehill) recently played on their summer series show and it was 100 degrees when we did soundcheck. Not much cooler when we actually played! Still, a fun night, great crowd, and fun venue.

Other than the Houston Livestock and Rodeo show, we keep just missing you guys. Was hoping you would be at Ziegenbock Fest Oct 29 at Houston as we are on the show. Maybe down the road.... good picking and good times!

Steve, I think the temperature may have hit 105 degrees the day we played that gig. I keep trying to convince the bands I play for that we should tour Canada and Alaska in the summertime, and play Texas in the winter!
