I've got a Peavey Classic 30 that sounds pretty good for practice . It's lacking in the mids and lows . Is there a replacement speaker I could put in it to help in this area ? I want it to carry to rehearsal , not really to gig with .

Hey Ron, I had one of those that I eventually gave to my grandson. I liked it a lot for lead guitar but I thought it sucked for steel, just didn't have what it takes for good steel tone.........JH in Va.

A secret giant of guitar amps - I've had mine for 20 years, it ended up edging out a Mesa/Boogie and an early-70's 50-watt Marshall head (Duane Allman/Jeff Beck...) But it's midrange structure and overdrive curve don't work well with steel. Another speaker might prove that a little more clearly....  |
