Anyone please tell me the best way to pack a N400 for shipping...UPS...Fed Ex?.

Here's what I did:

It's best if you can get 4" to 6" of fairly rigid foam all around the amp and make sure the speaker grill and know area are covered with plywood. I did pack one where I made 8 foam corners leaving the amp totally suspended from all sides of the shipping box and only supported by the foam corners. It was similar in concept to the Peavey 112 packing shown on the above page and very secure.

When shipping an amp this heavy, I normally remove the speaker and box it separately with foam padding, this I feel greatly reduces the risk of damage to the amp cabinet if the box is (man)handled or dropped. I generally ship them as two individual packages and prefer Fedex over UPS. |
