Johnny is on Tony Booth's new C.D. doing some of the most tasteful playing I've heard. My friend and fellow steel player, Buddy Griffin asked me what kind of steel did we suppose he might be playing on that recording. Let's just ask Johnny. I bet he'll be glad to tell us. Whatever brand it was, it sure sounds great. Tommy.......

If it's recent, my bet is on MSA. Johnny is great no matter what he plays on or who he plays with. I sure wish he and Watson would get their butts out here so I could see that combination in action.

If it is the album titled Is This All There Is To A Honky-Tonk, it is a Sho-Bud permanent. I asked him about it when the album came out.

Thanks guys, the first cd, was the Sho-Bud. The latest one recorded in early 2010 I used Joan's 1998 Zum. It was before I had rebuilt my MSA and I had already returned the Sho-Bud to Kevin Owens. I was very happy with the sound I got with the Zum and a Nashville 112. Tony is such a wonderful artist and person and a delight to work with.
