Thanx for posting this song, a fave, and while not a huge Sol fan this was some sweet playing.
1936 takes it away from my guess', but I think Dwight Harris (still living last I heard) was one who played w/Sol, and I have pix (of him and his band, w/names) from '49 in a local club with another Hawaiian on steel, both using Bakelite B6's. '36 was near the start of Sol's recording career, so I'll be interested in who this is. |

I think that may be Dick McIntire playing the harmonics.
Ron--sacre bleu!
Sol's first recordings were in 1925--this was '36, closer to the end of his prime stuff (unless you include the gospel recordings), while it was probably the beginning of McIntire's recording career. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

Hey, I was only more than a decade off! Guess I better dust off my Sol memory a bit more, thanx for the schoolin'. And was there a history of Dick and Sol recording together? I have more pix with the two together hawking Dickerson's, so as the two top dogs of the day they must have teamed up at some point. |
