Here's an original, "Take a Walk on the East Side," a duet featuring my lap steel and tenor saxophone. I like the combination of instruments, plus I can't escape the Jerry Byrd influence, even if I wanted to. Hope you enjoy the tune. http://soundcloud.com/chuckesteel/take-a-walk-on-the-east-side

As usual, you've come thro' with an exceptional instrumental, very creative and pleasant to listen to.
Was that YOU.........blowing on the horn?
Nicely done Chuck. What's next? I'll be anxiously waiting........ (It must be that clear, high mountain air!) |

Hi Ray,
Yes that's me on the tenor sax, a new project. Glad you like the tune. It's always good to see you at the steel shows. Are you going to the Phoenix show in January? Hope you're doing well.

It's always nice to see you at the shows as well. I always enjoy your fine playing and your experimentation....
My daughter lives in Phoenix but it's doubtful I'll be able to make it as I'm on a limited income these days. Oh well...........
I had no idea YOU were a horn tooter! I like the way you interwove the two instruments. Keep up the great work. |

Hi Chuck, listened to the song. Real good. I heard a lot of influences in this song, Jerry Byrd, some good jazz riffs, and the soundtrack from an old TV show, Adventures in Paradise. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Like you, I love the sounds that a saxophone and lap steel can make together. Mitch, I've been enjoying your version of Adventures in Paradise. Dennis, great to see you happy and healthy in St. Louis. George, you should try to make it to the SWSGA's Non-pedal Session in January. Hope y'all are doing well.
