Selling my mid-50s 24 1/2" scale Triple 8 Fender Stringmaster. Here's the scoop:
- overall in really good condition, some scrapes and scuffs but looks and plays great
- the 3 necks all sound pretty different, and one pickup probably needs to be reconnected or something as the top neck only seems to use the neck pup, but still that one sounds really great
- push button neck selectors
- legs appear to be original, fit snug and work well (I'm 6'5" and can play it standing up, but I look like a damn fool)
- case is moderately destroyed but could be rebuilt pretty easily by someone with more skills than I
- tuning pegs all there, not bent, work well and holds a tune
- gotta love that cream color!
- still has 2 of the 3 original ash-tray pickup blend knob covers - those suckers go for buckets of $ on eBay these days
I just never got around to playing it like I had planned. This is a really great instrument that could work as-is or if you wanted to fix it up a bit, you could have one of the best around and would make a solid investment. A couple pickup rewinds and a little cleaning and this would be a real killer.
$995 cash - Ideally I'd like a local (w/in 250 miles of Austin, TX) sale, but I'll consider shipping it if buyer pays shipping (guessing around $65).
Please don't hesitate to ask questions or ask for any specific photos you'd like me to take. I want the next owner to be really happy, to love this instrument and to feel like it was a good deal.
Ok, thanks gang!!
