| Once I was working a show where Pete Grant was playing steel for the Dillards. We were goofing aoung in the afternoon when he took one of these and played the Mellotron into to Strawberry Fields Forever dead on. Blew my mind! |

Yep, the two string models were rare and short lived. I have one that is from the late 60's or early 70's I believe. It has the leather holster that clips on your belt.

| What is the spacing between the 2 strings with this unit? On steel, would it be two neighboring strings, or would you need to have an un-voiced string between the two voiced strings? |

Kevin, does your unit actually excite two strings? It looks like the current single string models, except it being chrome.

Bryan, it activates a string, skips a string, then activates the next string up (or down). So strings 3+5, and 4+6, have always been my go-to string pairs. Mine works, but now needs AC power for some unknown reason.
You guys missed your chance to have a very cool, unique gizmo, and the price was very reasonable; new these things were about $300 or so as I recall. Tom Bradshaw always carried these, that's where I got mine.
