I recently bought a Rickenbacker 1940 Silver Hawaiian, Model 100 with no tuners on it. It looks like it should take the stock replacement open-back Grover V97C's or Waverly 4060's but the shaft won't go through the headstock and the screw holes are too close together. The Grover Sta-Tites have a solid shaft that is 234/1000", so I need a set of 3-on-a-side that would be @ 1/5" diameter shaft.

Does anyone know of tuners that will fit this lap steel? Or have a set of old tuners that they would be willing to sell? Thanks! -Jim Rosenthal Dallas, TX

Have you tried contacting Rickenbacker for suggestions? They may even have some spares lying around.

I have used these for both Silvers and Bakelites ...

You'll need to pass a round file through the headstock holes ... Just a tad ... No biggie ...

Then you'll have to elongate the holes on the tuning machines a tad also ... to line up with the original holes ... No biggie ...

The screw heads will cover it up ... You won't be able to tell ...

Hope that helps ..
