This guitar was made for Jim Murphy by Dick Miller and he used it with Asleep At The Wheel while in that band til' his death. It originally had Geo L's in it, Murph asked me to change them to something unique
I found an Emmons, a Marlin and a Sho-Bud pickup, and put them all in, if I remember one came loose at the mount,
they could be put in a bit sturdier but . . .
Brenda has decided to sell this guitar, so I thought I might help her by posting a few photos, the price is $1500 plus shipping for this guitar & case.
Its heavy as hell but has an Anvil case for it as well. Its in fantastic condition, the guitar is in Dallas. So if you have a sit down gig, move it once, til' you get run off!!
Thanks for looking,
Redd Volkaert

Gotta tell you, Redd, I got all excited about this one until I checked my bank book. That is a beauty with some real provenance.
Geez, a T-10, no less. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

If i wasnt so dependant on pedals, this steel would be in my music room. This is an awesome steel, with Tons of mojo... At $1500 bucks, im amazed this thing isnt sold. go price the anvil case that comes with it, thats at least $300. Bump for a good deal on a steel that was owned by one of my hero's. _________________ Emmons P/P's into the loudest amp I can get ahold of. No effects other than reverb. EVER!. Redd I never got to see the finished steel. I saw it in different stages. Dick was really proud of his creation. I hope it finds a good home and someone who really appreciates the workmanship of Mr. Dick Miller.

Redd and Terry, I had the pleasure of seeing and hearing Murph play this beauty with the Wheel a couple times. It is a wonderful sounding instrument. I would love to have it myself. _________________ Johnny "Dumplin" Cox

Amazing! I truly enjoyed and cherished my friendship with both Murph and Dick Miller, these were fine men.
And I owned a Miller-built Fessenden that was probably the best sounding and most beautiful Fessy I'd ever seen, much less owned.
Redd, there is something bad wrong with the world if this guitar hasn't sold. Cindy should be contacted about this horn. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |
