Hey Jack,
That will be a great show. There is none better than Steve Sanford. Spent most of my time in St Louis with Steves great band and Bill Stafford. Steve will be legendary. No one today has his tenacity and expertise on the steel. The greatest thing is that he is tottally committed to pleasing the listeners.
Sure wish I could come but am not sure yet.
See you somewhere I'm sure. Keep Jumpin.

Well Country Jack,I'm out of luck again!I have a Sunday School fellowship at the exact same time.Since I'm the teacher,I must attend.I missed Steve play at the Sucarnochee Revue in Meridian last month because of work.He was backing up Cheryl Luquire,a fantastic young lady singer from Meridian, who is now in Nashville working and singing with several bands.
I hope to see y'all in Fulton,MS October 7&8.
Any news about the Gospel steel event you were working on?

Sure proud of Steve and his most deserved recognition coming his way now. He was one of the bright lights at the St. Louis show. Wish I could be there this weekend too.

We sure had a good time at the Brandon Opry last Saturday night! Great two-hour show, with Country Jack Harper, Wayne Gray, George Dukes, and the Brandon Opry Band ... Bob Saxton, David McCoy, Wilson Karges, Bobby Lowe, Sharon Ross ... and I got to play piano too! Having Steve Sanford with us that night was a REAL treat! He did a GREAT job! |

this just happen to have been the absolute best country music stage show in the great state of mississippi and possiblly the entire south on this particular night, being the 88th birthday of country music's true legend, hank williams sr.
i talked to a 95 yr old guy in the audience that was just absolutely overwhelmed by the content of this program and the quality of each and every member of the entourage.
that was a good feelin'.
