There is a way cool girls and womens' rock school (slash boot camp) in Downtown Brooklyn that needs ringers to come in and wow the girls. My daughter attended and went from zero to 65 (new speed limit?) in a short week.

they're doing a lot of blues and punk, but the C & W, rockabilly, and blues with steel need to be represented in order to create the next generation of Joan Cox(es), Cindy Cashdollar(s), etc.

A dobro would work just as well placed into similar genres, of course.

You will just need to show up a couple times per year and pull out some tunes. let's not let the rappers and Disney/Glee take over!

you'll not get paid for the gigs but can probably get car fare, etc.

Oh please, please!

thanks.

Here's a site you might want to try,

brooklyncountry.com

If you do a search on brooklyncountry.com, I'm sure you'll find this female and yes I do remember seeing her with her band posted on this site but I just can't find the band any more, .........she's nice looking.

Her name is Jane Galla.

You might look up Kaki King. She lives in Brooklyn when not on the road.

Catherine Popper is mostly a bass player but plays pedal steel a bit. She lives in NYC. Look her up on facebook and send her a note.

If she had stuck with it, she'd be reading these posts, no? and with such illustrious teaching, how could she go wrong?

thanks guys, I've got a nice couple of leads now, and will slowly work thru the process and let you know how it turns out.
