Does anyone know what the 7 string lap steel is that he plays with The Bonebrake Syncopators?

It sounds pretty great to me. I wonder why people hate them.

Although I'm somewhat resistant to name names, I can say that I've read that they don't sound very good. It was on the internet, though, so I guess the grain of salt rule applies.

Those Epiphones with the horseshoe pickup seemed to be a big hit with the players of the day: Bob Dunn, Noel Boggs, and I think maybe David Keili'i. I'd love to own one of those guitars.

Or did you mean the band? Some folks just can't get into this jazzy modern music the kids are listening to today. I like it myself......

I've also read that jazzy modern music can lead to narcotic addiction and fornication.

It's true, not to mention making your parents want to tear their hair out! Winking

I think I read somewhere that Joaquin Murphy's first Bigsby had horseshoes from the same manufacturer as the Epiphones. Does anyone know who made these?

Paul Bigsby made all the parts, including the pickups, himself.
