Hello to all--I am a new member here.I have noted over my many visits to the site in the past that whenever an LDG is mentioned or offered for sale it is invariably 'LDG green'. I have a factory finished black LDG and I'm curious to learn if this is unusual or if anyone else has come across one--were they offered in different colours?

| I have a purty red LDG that has an sp on the front that I was told was for a special order. Tho I have not seen a black one. |

| I think that in the later years, Sho Bud experimented with the colors on LDG's. Mine is circa 1977/78 in transparent dark gray. I have also seen black laquer, blue and red. I have never seen a clear maple (blonde)... |

I love seeing my old 76 in the 2nd picture, thanks CrowBear! Mine is actually not a refinish or a custom color, mine is a classic Sho Bud fade. It was at one time, classic LDG Green. It is an amazing sounding guitar too... Just check out what was lurking under the pad:

Interesting to get your replies guys -thanks.
Also interesting to note that pic 3 shows a 'southpaw'.
I'll get the camera out and take a couple of shots of mine and post them tomorrow for the fun of it.
Did I hear someone once say that black guitars 'sound better!!??'

The Sho-Bud in the 5th photo in CrowBear's post is mine. AS you can see, it's not the standard "LDG green." If you will look closely, under the letters "LDG" are two small letters "SP". I met Lloyd Green and he wrote an inscription on the underside of the steel and signed his name. He told me that the "SP" stood for "special paint". He said that all of the LDG's were to be green unless someone specifically requested another color, in which case, the letters "sp" would be placed under the letters "LDG".

Thanks for that Mitch.That being the case mine must be earlier than that event as theres no evidence of 'sp'.
As promised some pix of the guitar-sorry about the quality my photographic skills are about on a par with my steel playing. BTW she sounds wonderful--pity I can't do her justice!!
