I know there will never be another Danny Gatton (rip) or Buddy Emmons, but is anyone aware of any band that is making music with pedal steel and other instruments in a manner similar to that of the Redneck Jazz Explosion? I f so, please let me know.

I never get tired of listening to RJE (guess my avatar is a give away, eh?). Such an inspiring and fresh approach to music...30+ years later!

I ain't no BE for sure, but we were leaning in that direction when I was playing with Jimmy Herring's band. There's a bunch of utube somewhere... If you get a chance catch anything you can featuring Barry Sless. He can throw jazz/rock jams with the best of 'em.
