I can't see that this has been posted before - lots of close shots of Mr Leisz and his steel, for once - and a really good performance from Jeff B., in my humble opinion.

Edit: sorry - it's down below, under the title "who would have thought" -never mind - it's worth seeing twice!!

What a great link! It doesn't hurt having Buddy Miller playing guitar for you either!

Excellent band and lead singer. Greg sounds fab. I'd pay to see that if it came here.

Very nice. What kind of Emmons is G.L playing? It looks like a wrap-around, perhaps a bolt-on?

Great to see JB bringing back real old school country
with great song writing and song choices to the eyes
of newer generations.

Here he is on Colbert too.

I've always thought JB has..."IT"...when it comes to down to basics. Fabulous song from the writer also.

The steeler might be Bill Flores, who also is a good sax player and a bunch of other stuff. He's a Ventura cat. I know he's doing some of the Jeff gigs. Can't see him too good here....

Thanks Hoke, I've been touring with Jeff these past couple of months and we did a whirlwind stop in NYC for the tv shows. The tune on Colbert that was posted was written by Nashville writer, John Goodwin, who has some songs on the new cd, and is Jeffs' childhood friend to boot. I am very fortunate to play with the talented people in the band, all old friends from Santa Barbara, and Jeff is a very real, sincere and talented guy. Also check out the fiddle player, Carrie Rodriguez, she joined for the Austin City Limits taping and we decided she had to come along for the rest of the tour.
Between the songs from Crazy Heart, which had Greg Leisz playing steel, and the new one which features Russ Pahl, I get to try and cop some beautiful steel parts....big shoes to fill with my small feet!
Gracias Bill Flores

You deserve it Bill. Anybody else in the band from S.B. I might know? Bob Ledner? Oma Galloway? Joan Herchkowitz?

Wow - maybe there's hope for country music yet. I really like the shots where you have Greg, T Bone Burnett, Jeff Bridges and Buddy Miller all at once. Good grief what a band!

And Greg has that tone I think you can really only get with a push pull.

Thanks for posting this, it made my day to see it.
