Anyone got tab or ideas? It doesn't even need the melody, playing as wedding recessional. Would dearly appreciate any help. Regular tuning.

Try this: jaybuckey.com/free_tablature.htm

Amongst the list of tabs is a Canon in D version for dobro. I downloaded it last year and fooled with it enough to see it might work up very nicely.

Thanks, fellas. Any cool way to play that F#m? I know the usual power chord methods.

Re: the F#m. See John Ely's chord locator at Hawaiiansteel.com He shows a couple of split slants that give inversions of the full minor triad. A quick look back at that Jay Buckey tab makes me think the Ken Emerson/Cindy Cashdollar G6 tuning, hi>lo = DBGEBG might work. That would give F#m at fret 2 and 14. (I play G13 8 string, which is cheating and really fun.)

I know you say regular tuning, but if you lower your low G to E you can make all the minor chords you need. F#m will be at the 2nd fret, strings 6,5,3,2. Add strings 4 and 1 if you want F#m7. You can hear it at 0:37 of The Water is Wide, another good wedding song.

Greg,
I have enjoyed your U-tube clips quite a lot and even though you have made no secret of your tuning, it took seeing your comment on this post that finally got me to tune my 6th string down to "E" on my Beard Goldtone just now and....WOW!!!!!!
I'm kicking myself for not doing it MUCH sooner.
Real minor chords, be still my heart!!! LOL
Thanks for the tip!

Oh boy. Lowering the G to E opened it up for me and it almost plays itself. I don't need to run the melody verbatim, just noodle with the chords. They'll get it. Thanks much, Greg!!
