I have 2 12" Black widows. a 1201 4ohm and a 1202 4ohm.
they have the spider web design on the magnet.
The only info I can find on the Peavey site is for the 8 ohm super structure series in which the 1201 1nd 1202 are listed as PA speakers.
So are my 4omn 1201 and or 1202 suitable for steel?
I put the 1202 in a cab and wasn't crazy about it.
I don't want to bother with the 1201 if it won't work either.
what's the 12" Black widow of choice?
Thanks

The 1203-4 is what Peavey used in the old Nashville 112 speaker cabinet. The Nashville 112 speakers are what Jeff Newman used.

Thank you gentlemen for your quick replies.
figures I have the wrong ones.
anybody know anything about applications for this era 1201 1202 4 ohms?
I got them out of an old 2 12 bassman cab and the guy said he was using them for guitar.

It's not to say the ones you have won't work, we were just noting what Peavey used in their steel guitar speakers.

I have a 1203-8 (8 ohm version) that I used in a floor monitor and it works great. That's not what it was intended for.

Jack you are correct.I did a little more research and the Little Walter Amp page came up.
Turns out the 1201 4 is the speaker of choice for his "steel guitar clients".
I had the 1202 in cab and switched out for the 1201 and it sounds okay.Seems to sound better at higher volumes and I have another amp to try.
Of course now that I have it in my head that some of nashvilles elite use them they sound better every time I play them Smile
