I want to learn this nice intro on dobro. It is from the song Blue Water by Poco and the dobro part is played by Rusty Young. I am a beginner, but I feel it is time to learn this and use some time to get it right.

I uploaded a small audio clip with the intro here, for you to download:

To me it is quite fast - and very cool - but I really need some tabs to figure this out.

If it's not too much to ask, I hope that a dobro player in this forum can figure out the tabs and tuning for me Smile

Thanks a lot for your time Smile

Hello,
The first thing I will tell you is that Poco always tuned their instruments to Eb - so they are a half step flat. They usually played in easy keys, but the half step flat tuning can confuse you. I will give it a listen & see what I can find out.

It's played in standard G dobro tuning, GBD GBD
Capoed on the second fret.

I don't have the time to tab it, so I've posted an MP3 lesson at http://picosong.com/At5

I've divided the intro into four parts for easy study.

If anyone wants to use my lesson to post tab, I welcome it.
