That is a LeGrande. Whenever John came to the UK with Conway Twitty he used a push pull, either a rosewood model or a pale green/blue (teal?). He used to make those guitars sing. Every time I spoke to him, he was always fixing to get a new one, and he told me that he loved the Emmons guitars. _________________ Show Pro D10 - amber (8+6), MSA D10 Legend XL Signature - redburst (9+6), Sho-Bud Pro 111 Custom (8+6), Emmons black Push-Pull D10 (8+5), Zum D10 (8x8), Hudson pedal resonator. The respect that Vince had for John was remarkable. John was never just another side man in Vince's eyes. |

I read a story where Vince wanted to carry Johns steel in for him. Vince had stated that "you are John Hughey" and he did have much respect for him. Vince Gills style fit John Hughey as much or better than that of Conway Twitty. John definitely was a legend and a class act. |

From the shimmer of his bar, to the sounds of his falls,
John had a way, to win the hearts of us all. I miss him! |

I've heard it said that Vince bragged about John playing the second most beautiful solo ever on "Look at Us". When asked what the most beautiful solo was, he said "Lost In The Feeling". John is still influencing our generation of steel guitarists. |

Damn I miss John. It brought a tear to my eyes when the crowd applauded after John's solo.
I love it when Andrea is on fiddle and singing backupto Vince. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Playing for 54 years and still counting. |

Sorry I spelt her name wrong...This fabulous lady is Andrea Zonn
Musicians on the session are Phil Cunningham, Jimmy Capps Mark Fain, Bob Mater and or course the king, Lloyd Green.
A beautiful voice, a pretty tune, a mention of Cape Breton Canada, and this is perfection....

If you look carefully you will see the LeGrande logo on the right of the front apron. _________________ Show Pro D10 - amber (8+6), MSA D10 Legend XL Signature - redburst (9+6), Sho-Bud Pro 111 Custom (8+6), Emmons black Push-Pull D10 (8+5), Zum D10 (8x8), Hudson pedal resonator. Not just on the solo, this is the first video I've seen where there are cheers from the audience each time the steel comes in. Notice that the cheers are not timed to the vocal, as usual, or the fiddle, but strictly to the steel. |
