I would sincerely like to congratulate Russ Hicks on his induction to the SGHOF!
Russ is always one of the names that comes to mind when this topic is opened.
Again, congratulations to you Russ, no one more deserving and my favorite trumpet player Wink

Russ,

Congratulations!....Don't know if I ever told you I had one of the best DJ conventions largely due to your generosity of driving Dad and I to the Andrew Jackson hotel...Then in the Emmons room when you played "Devils Dream" on the C6th with Stu Basore playing the bass lines on the C6th, a duo with twin steels...that was just too much to comprehend.....I just couldn't believe Russ Hicks asked us to tag along, how cool is that?......You are a true stylistic pioneer and deserve this honor.......Hugs

Laney, thanks for giving me the opportunity to contribute to his nomination process.......

Paul

Way to go Russ! Congradulations!

So does this mean that i can't play a better version of your better version of Emmons version of "Wills Point" at the Saluda show? Laughing Cool

I expect you to play "Hwy 40 Blues" at warp speed with me when you get to Saluda this fall! Razz

Love ya man!...... Very Happy
