At long last, my new CD is finally here (no, wait a minute; that was my first CD...) In any case, the new one has now been released and is available for immediate shipping.
The disc contains mostly tunes from the '60s British Invasion including songs from The Hollies, The Left Banke, Rolling Stones, The Bee Gees, The Zombies, Procol Harum, Moody Blues, and even King Crimson, with some Dusty Springfield, Dolly Parton, and even Pachelbel's Canon thrown in for good measure. I hope you'll like it.
You can listen to clips of all the songs at my website at Jim's Website, where you'll also find a link for ordering via PayPal or with a credit card (or by mail).
I will, of course, have copies available at ISGC in St. Louis next weekend.
Special thanks go out to Dan Kleiman, my major co-conspirator in producing this CD, and to fiddler extraordinaire, Alex DePue, who is featured prominently on several of the tunes.
I also want to thank Forumites Brad Sarno, who did a stellar job of mastering the disc, Rob Hamilton, whose work on the website over the past few days has been invaluable, and Graham Bland, whose CD manufacturing and graphics printing work is just great. I heartily recommend the work of all three of these gentlemen to you.
Special thanks to Herb Steiner who, through many late night conversations, finally persuaded me to record a CD full of this material.
Speaking of graphics, once again, Mike Ihde has done a superb job on the artwork (wait till you see the inside!). Mike is also the winner of the name-this-cd contest (well, he had an unfair advantage in being able to supply a draft cover to go along with his suggested title). The two runners-up in the naming contest, Andy Volk ("In One Era and Out the Other") and Roger Crawford ("Cohen Back in Time") have both been credited in the liner notes and will receive free CD copies (send me your mailing address guys, or see me in St. Louis if you'll be there).
What's that you say? The title of the disc? Oh, did I forget to tell you? Well, click here to find out!

Hi Jim,
I'd like to order a copy of your new cd. Tell us where to send for it and how much.
Steel Forum members, Jim had one of the best steel cds I heard in a long time titled "Finally Here." His playing and arrangements and selection of songs are always top flight!
By the way Jim, I hope you don't mind but I used one of your songs at my wedding. My wife loved it, "Finally Here"!
Also, You and Curly Chalker's recordings are the only two steel players that she seems to enjoy. Of course I married her!
GOD bless!
Terry Wood

Jim, I just got done listening to the songs on your new CD. Now if people want to stereotype the pedal steel as being for one genre, all they have to do is spend the few minutes as I did on your web-site and see how wrong they are. Great job and I most certainly want to add this CD to my collection. See you in St. Louis.Once again You have found "a waiter survive". |

Thanks for checking out the CD and for the kind words posted. I sent out a bunch of orders today so they should start arriving early next week.
Laney, you have Eagle Eyes: yes, indeed, that IS Her Majesty the Queen, riding along in the back of my 1967 Austin FX4 London Taxi. I was on my way to a gig at the time but, well, when the Queen flags you down, even former Royal subjects have to stop and do the right thing. So I put her on the front of my CD! |

I've know about Jim's fascination with Elizabeth for years! Didn't you see her on his last CD?
