Hi guys,

I am starting to notice that my volume pedal is crackling when I'm playing, it is one of the older Goodrich pedals, but I'm not sure of the model. I was told it had the pot replaced in it before I purchased it 2 years ago, as it was a second hand unit, perhaps it needs to be replaced again? Are they hard to fix?

Thanks in advance, I appreciate any light that can be shed on the subject. Smile

Marcus

Go to Tom Bradshaws site and check out the Dunlop pots. Also there are some new million cycle conventional pots out now. There are also some sites that have instructions on installing pots in Goodrich pedals. One may be Greg Cutshaw. Do a little search and I bet you'll find something to help you.

Hi Marcus,

Since you said "crackle", it makes me think that it could also be a loose connectoion to a jack. If it only happens when the pot is moving, then it's the pot. You can probably fix the scratchy pot temporarily with some electronic cleaner.

Hi Brett, thanks for your reply, The volume pedal is fine until I get it to a higher volume, or if when I'm not playing I depress it to full volume it has a hissing type of crackling, but it fine at a lower type volume. I will try the method you mentioned, I appreciate your advice.
