Has anyone picked one up and used it for steel? I got one and have been loving it, it's hard to stomp on along with using volume pedal stuff but you get used to it.

here's a link to someone using it very effectively on regular guitar.

I've been wanting one, but don't have enough spare change laying around at the moment.

I've been wanting one since they came out....I will tell you this-it's one of those things that draws creativity out of you...I'll sit down with it and time just goes by...scary fast...I have found it allows me to put together diads and triads I never would have thought of doing and it sounds great.
The next thing I am going to do is put it together with my looper and let the notes fall where they may!

Jay: you're right, this thing really unlocks some dormant creativity in your playing. I am constantly finding new tricks and sounds I can use with it.

Hey Chris-
The Freeze is a "sound retainer", according to the printing on the box it came in.
Basically, it 'freezes' the sound that is being produced at the instant the foot-switch is pressed....the sound is then replayed until the switch is released....but it's not a looper- it's different.
For me- it gives me a real cool drone sound to play other sounds over...but it's not a looper....
Here's a short demo from the makers....

My favorite is with the acoustic guitar so far....
