A while back, I removed the notification sound on the PCs primary volume control [taskbar].
You know, when you push the volume slider up or down and let go, a sound is made.
I took it away, because it was sort-of an offensive noise; especially when you weren't ready for it.
So there's NO SOUND now, but I'd like to get some kind of sound back.
In SOUND/Sounds is where I thought I went to remove the annoying sound. But now, I don't see a listing that looks anything like 'volume' or 'volume control'.
Am I looking in the right spot? Do I have to put 'volume' back in Sounds?
I tried the web, before posting, but the problem is hard to put down in a few words. I just kept getting "how to adjust volume in Windows" and things more like that.
I'm seeing now, that having some kind of noise upon release of the slider is a good idea. Before I open up anything else [that may be way too loud], at least I can hear what the volume may be, by the slider.
I didn't think I would miss such a teensy-weensy thing. _________________ Chip

The sound played when you move the volume slider is called "Default Beep."
In Windows 7, right click on the volume icon in the Systray, then left-select Sounds. Scroll slightly down the list until you find Default Beep.
Under "Sounds," look toward the bottom of the list and select "Windows Ding.wav" - then Apply it, then click OK. _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum

AH!!!
That's what I was lookin' for. No wonder I couldn't find it under VOLUME. It's under DEFAULT. Oh yeah, I know right where it is; I was lookin' at it earlier today.
Well, this is definitely a "DOH" moment.
As always, Wizardo,
Mucho Appreciado.
Guess you can close her up now. _________________ Chip
